Go Fish... cont'd

My very first blog post had to do with Rick Reilly's Go Fish. This is another one of his articles. I was laughing pretty hard as I read this one! :)

After spending three years searching for the world's dumbest sports for my new book "Sports from Hell," I realized I missed some very, very stupid ones.

You very bizarre people proved that by sending in 140 exceedingly brainless ones as part of our contest: Send Us Your Stupid Sports. Most of them involved new and inventive ways to turn your liver into a Rain Bird sprinkler.

2nd Place:

Me and my friends from college played a game we liked to call Ouch! To play Ouch! you need a yellow plastic Wiffle ball, and a bat with all the rules written on it. The rules are, at any time any day, one person can take the bat and crack you one anyplace but the jewels and the face. At the time of the hit, the victim has two reactions: If he says "Ouch!" he gets no rebuttal on the perpetrator. If however, he does not say "Ouch!" he gets a free hit on the guy who hit him, picking ANY body part minus the face. It's a 24/7 game where technically nobody wins, you just have to try to eliminate ouch or anything of the sort from your vocabulary. Even if you win one round, surely enough the next day, you'll step out of the bathroom after your morning shower and CRACK! Right across your chest comes that bat, you never even saw it coming, he was hiding behind the door frame!

Weekend!

More happenings of the past week!

Country Rock Band! Pretty much, the best version of Rock Band! :) (no pictures for this one unfortunately)

We decided to have a little campfire and roast some marshmallows! What's summer without sitting around a campfire? :) We didn't take very many good pictures. But after breaking some wood with our bare hands we got that little campfire rolling and made some delicious s'mores! :)

We saw Toy Story in 3-D! Thus the glasses. :) It's a cute movie!

Went to an Orem Owlz game. They are a minor league team for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim! :) As we were walking up to the ticket booth to buy our tickets a guy approaches us and asks us if we would like 3 tickets, for FREE! (They are behind Tandy in the picture!)

He said he didn't know how good the seats would be? We thanked him and his wife and went and found our seats! They were pretty freaking good! (You can't really tell in the pictures! But they were right behind home plate and pretty close! The moon looked awesome last night!)

When we went to the movies, we got a REALLY good parking spot. I told Tandy it was because I said my prayers that morning. We went shopping after the movie, and kept getting good parking spots. I said good thing I said my prayers that morning. After we got the free tickets to the game, I said it was a REALLY GOOD thing I said my prayers that morning! :) We had a great time! The game was really good! The Owlz won in the bottom of the 10th inning!

They had a fireworks show after! I love fireworks!

Hopefully this next week will be just as exciting as the last! :)

Tandy's Visit

Here's what we've been up to since Tandy's been here.

We went to my roommate Megan's play. It was super cute and she did awesome!

Tandy played with our Spiders team for a tournament. It was a fun filled weekend of softball! :)

We spent the weekend at Aunt Patty and Uncle Steve's. We went to church (and matched without even planning it). Obviously picture worthy. :)

Lots of laying out by their pool. I read an entire book, in one afternoon :) and in the process got fried! Even though I did put sunscreen on!

Greg had a baseball game in Ephraim. We took lots of pictures on the way down. It was a long drive. :)

There was a lovely incident involving a parent of one of the kids. It's official, there are some CRAZIES out there! One of his memorable quotes, (At the top of his lungs) "Strike them out! They're just a bunch of MORONS!" Yes, those morons would be TWELVE years old. Seriously dude? They're TWELVE!

Other events with no pictures: lots of volleyball, basketball, and softball... open gyms... conditioning... Tennis Tuesdays... working out... One Tree Hill marathon. It's been a fun week!

What I've Been Up To :)

I know, I know! It's been a couple of weeks! It's been a busy summer so far! Nothing too exciting. But still fun, and definitely busy! I've been coaching a lot! 3 high school sports, plus an accelerated softball team! Did I mention busy?! :) Doing a little bit of word processing for the company in Arizona! And enjoying the sun. Although it's been raining for the last few days. Not loving that so much. :) Anything is better than the snow I guess!

The first weekend in June we had our first softball tournament for the Spiders. We took 3rd. The theme of the weekend was "3rd sucks." :) It was a good way to start off the season. But let's be honest. No one really wants to get 3rd place! Not a very good picture, but you get the idea! I'm excited for the rest of the summer!

Jordan graduated from high school! The graduation was at the Huntsman Center at the University of Utah. Their graduating class was HUGE! But graduation went pretty fast (with the entertainment of some phase 10 playing! :) don't judge.) and we had a nice BBQ after! It was fun to catch up with family!

Remember this?

We finally got our state rings! Aren't they pretty! :)

Last weekend we had BYU team camp. The younger girls got a hold of my camera and took lots of pictures. Isn't Charli the cutest little baby!

BCF Christie was in the play Funny Girl at the SCERA! Rosemary and I made a fun little day of it. We went to Cafe Rio for dinner. Then headed to the play. Before it started we got in a game of 5 Crowns. Yes, I play a lot of cards! :) We had a great time and Christie was AWESOME!

Tandy got here today. She's going to hang out for a couple of weeks. Play in a softball tournament with us. Enjoy the good 'ol Utah life! It should be a fun couple of weeks! It's been a great start to summer!
